This Privacy Policy explains what information TrustRoute collects, why, and how it's protected. By using TrustRoute, you agree to the practices described here, in addition to our Terms & Conditions.
1. Information We Collect
To provide a verified, safe carpooling experience, TrustRoute collects the following:

2. How We Use Your Information
- To verify your identity before you can post or book a ride
- To match you with relevant rides on your route
- To calculate fares, ETAs, and pickup points
- To enable safety features — SOS alerts, live trip sharing, and reliability scores
- To detect fraud, fake profiles, or misuse of the platform
- To communicate booking updates, verification status, and important account notices
We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties.
3. Who We Share Data With
TrustRoute shares limited data with the following categories of service providers, only as needed to operate the app:
- Licensed eKYC provider — to verify your Aadhaar, license, and RC details. Your raw Aadhaar number is never stored by TrustRoute; only a verification result is retained.
- Google Maps Platform — to power location search, route calculation, and ETAs.
- Firebase (Google) — to deliver phone verification codes and push notifications.
- Other TrustRoute users — your name, photo, verification badges, rating, and reliability score are visible to other users to support trust decisions before booking. Your phone number and UPI ID are only shared with a user once a booking is confirmed between you.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and trip data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, safety, and dispute-resolution needs. You can request account deletion at any time (see Section 6).
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted storage of sensitive credentials and restricted access to identity verification data. No system is completely secure, and we continuously work to strengthen these protections.
6. Your Rights & Account Deletion
You can request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Account deletion is available directly within the app, or by contacting us at the email below. Deleting your account removes your profile and personal data from active use, subject to any records we're legally required to retain.
7. Children's Privacy
TrustRoute is intended for users aged 18 and above and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
8. Compliance
TrustRoute processes personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and identity verification is conducted through a licensed provider in compliance with the Aadhaar Act.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of TrustRoute after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
